Overview
We are looking for an experienced nurse who would like to join our dynamic team caring for children with a variety of Oncological conditions. You will work closely with the MDT to manage the care of patients within paediatric Oncology service. We are committed to active research programs which includes gene therapy trials. Children\’s services has strong links with local universities and actively supports the development of staff. The successful applicant will join a multidisciplinary team of skilled and highly motivated staff who provide high quality care to children with a variety of conditions. It is an expectation that all staff employed who come in contact with children and young people have a duty to safeguard and promote their welfare. This post will be subject to criminal records bureau checks at an enhanced level
Responsibilities
- To oversee the delivery of high quality, safe and effective care focused on improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
- To provide Paediatric Oncology nursing, clinical expertise and advice to support and facilitate the delivery of high standards of individualised care.
- As part of the Paediatric Haematology Team provide Specialist Clinical Nursing expertise in Paediatric Oncology, be a highly visible role model, independently carrying a caseload of patients, responsible for ensuring that care is of the highest quality, placing the needs of children and their families at the centre of care delivery.
- Assist the Consultant team, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Paediatric Haematology and Haemoglobinopathy (Band 8a\’s), Lead Nurse for Paediatrics, General Manager and Service Manager in strategic and financial planning for the Paediatric Oncology service.
- Promote, facilitate and provide multi-professional research, audit and education within the paediatric haematology Oncology service that delivers the Academic Health Sciences Centre (AHSC) vision of delivering world-class care and achieving excellence in all aspects of its business.
