The Role

As an NPD Formulation Technician, you'll play a hands on role in developing and testing new product formulations, working alongside experts in R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing to turn ideas into market ready innovations.

Principle Accountabilities
- Prepare, blend, and manufacture laboratory scale formulations in accordance with development plans, protocols, and safety requirements.
- Conduct product testing, evaluations, and data collection to support the development and optimisation of tobacco and nicotine products.
- Accurately record experimental results, maintain laboratory documentation, and ensure all data is captured in line with quality and regulatory standards.
- Support pilot plant and manufacturing trials, providing technical input to help scale products from laboratory development to commercial production.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, materials, and workspaces to ensure a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams including R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Manufacturing to deliver innovation projects on time and to specification.
Skills and Experience Required
- Qualification in Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent laboratory experience.
- Experience working in a laboratory, product development, quality, or manufacturing environment, ideally within FMCG, tobacco, nicotine, food, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Strong practical laboratory skills, with experience accurately preparing, handling, and testing formulations or raw materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and record keeping skills, with the ability to maintain accurate experimental data and technical documentation.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and support the development of practical solutions.
- A collaborative team player with strong communication and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment.
