The Role
Imperial Brands is a truly global FMCG organisation, driven by over 25,000 colleagues worldwide and a strong commitment to inclusion, innovation, and continuous improvement. We are now looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join our Bristol based Internal Audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a visible and impactful role within the business, where you’ll help shape how risk is understood and managed across the Group. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll deliver independent, insight‑led assurance while supporting the development of others and contributing to a culture of proactive risk management.
Principle Accountabilities
- Lead and deliver a range of internal audits in line with the annual IA programme, ensuring adherence to professional standards.
- Plan, scope and coordinate audit assignments, working closely with Senior Audit Managers and key stakeholders.
- Manage and review audit work undertaken by team members, co‑source partners and guest auditors, providing coaching and guidance.
- Identify risks, root causes and systemic issues, challenging the business appropriately and delivering value‑adding recommendations.
- Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, supporting management with the implementation of agreed actions.
- Contribute to departmental objectives through leadership, reporting, continuous improvement initiatives, training and deputising for senior management where required.
Skills and Experience Required
- Degree level education (or equivalent experience) together with a recognised professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA or ACCA), and strong financial audit experience.
- Proven experience in data analytics and IT General Controls, with at least 1 year of audit management responsibility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels and build strong global relationships.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability and willingness to travel (up to approximately 30% of the time, typically no more than two weeks at a time).
Desirable: prior audit experience in a manufacturing environment and/or project or programme governance, along with additional language skills (particularly French or Spanish).
