We are seeking a Territory Business Manager to take ownership of our retail engagement across Perth, including Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Pemberton, Majimup, Augusta, Bridgetown, Margaret River, Cowaramup, Boyup Brook, Katanning, Wagin, Collie, Busselton, Yallingup, Fremantle, Mandurah, Bunbury and surrounding satellite areas. This role includes 5-6 nights of travel per month.
As the primary point of contact for retailers in your territory, you will be responsible for executing business plans, delivering against commercial targets, and driving exceptional in-store execution. Working with a diverse portfolio of route trade partners—such as retailers, grocery stores, and petrol outlets—you will build strong, trusted relationships and educate retailers to drive consumer demand for Imperial Brands products.
Reporting to a supportive Area Sales Manager, you will focus on:
- Managing and strengthening existing customer relationships
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities
- Ensuring compliance with trading terms and retail standards
- Delivering engaging education programs to lift product knowledge and execution
- Collaborating cross-functionally to support broader business objectives
- Achieving KPIs and contributing to a high-performance team culture

Principle Accountabilities
- Sales Strategy Development: Design and implement effective customer call cycles and journey plans to maximize sales performance. Proactively identify growth opportunities and adapt strategies quickly to ensure targets are consistently achieved.
- Retailer Engagement: Build strong, influential relationships with retailers by clearly communicating call objectives, delivering compelling product education, and securing retailer commitment to drive both immediate sales uplift and sustainable long-term growth.
- Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data to optimize product distribution and availability, analyze shopper insights, and present evidence-based recommendations that support retailer decision-making and enhance category performance.
- Market Analysis: Continuously monitor market trends and competitor activity to ensure the product portfolio aligns with evolving consumer needs. Use insights to drive improvements in volume, market share, and profitability.
- Collaboration & Reporting: Partner with internal teams to share wins, identify development areas, and contribute to broader business initiatives. Participate in cross-functional projects or mentoring programs to support ongoing capability building.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Champion a strong safety culture by completing required training, conducting regular vehicle and equipment checks, and promptly reporting any incidents or hazards.

- Direct Selling Expertise: Demonstrated success in direct selling within the FMCG sector, consistently converting new business opportunities into sustainable revenue growth.
- Strong Commercial Acumen: Highly commercially minded with a deep understanding of retail principles—including margin, pricing, and in-store economics. Skilled at interpreting complex data sets and transforming insights into clear, profitable actions that drive revenue, improve ROI, and influence retailer decision-making.
- Data-to-Dollars Mindset: Exceptional ability to analyse market, shopper, and performance data and convert these insights into commercially compelling proposals. Adept at identifying value opportunities, quantifying financial impact, and influencing retailers with evidence-based recommendations that translate directly into sales and profit growth.
- Effective Communication: Clear, confident communicator with strong negotiation and presentation skills. Able to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and gain buy-in at all levels.
- Relationship Building: Proven ability to develop and nurture strong retailer partnerships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands customer needs and creates mutual value.
- Adaptability & Organisation: Highly organised, agile, and comfortable prioritising in a fast-paced environment. Able to work autonomously, manage travel requirements, and adapt quickly to shifting business needs.
