About the Role
We are looking for a Site Engineer to join our service team in Peterborough, responsible for the repair and preventative maintenance of materials handling and ancillary equipment. This is a varied, customer-facing role where you'll be a key technical representative on site, ensuring equipment reliability and excellent service delivery. You'll also support the Area Service Manager, acting as a first point of contact for defined support activities within the service team and helping to maintain strong customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventative maintenance on materials handling and ancillary equipment
- Diagnose faults and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Accurately complete service reports and timesheets
- Manage and control parts stock on site
- Build effective customer relationships through clear communication, ensuring expectations are met in line with contractual agreements
- Liaise closely with the After Sales Office to provide customers with accurate repair updates and ETAs
- Identify and communicate chargeable follow-up work, completing it in a timely manner
- Ensure all company and customer health & safety procedures are strictly followed
- Identify and pass on sales leads for Jungheinrich equipment and After Sales products
- Act as a Company Ambassador at all times
- You may occasionally be required to participate in call-out duties and work outside normal hours, as directed by the Area Service Manager.
About You
We're keen to hear from mechanically and/or electrically biased engineers from a wide range of maintenance or service backgrounds, including:
- Automotive Technicians
- HGV Engineers
- Mobile Plant Engineers
- Forklift Engineers
- Ex-Forces / Military Vehicle Engineers
You will also have:
- A full UK driving licence
- A good general level of education
- Experience in a customer-facing role
- The ability to work independently and unsupervised
- A proactive, professional approach with strong problem-solving skills
