Mechanical Engineer ROLE: Mechanical Engineer PAY RATE: £15 per hour PAYE CONTRACT TYPE: Temporary - 3 Months LOCATION: Sandwell West Birmingham NHS THE ROLE: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the maintenance and operation of mechanical building services across a busy NHS healthcare estate. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault-finding and minor installation works, ensuring critical mechanical systems remain safe, compliant and fully operational. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical building services, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on mechanical plant and equipment. Respond to reactive maintenance tasks, diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs. Maintain and repair complex mechanical systems, including: Ventilation systems Boilers and heating systems Pumps and compressors Domestic hot and cold-water systems Medical gas systems Assist with minor mechanical installation and upgrade works.
