Role Purpose

The Finance Business Partner, Expansion Capital Business Partnering plays a key role in bringing clarity and insight to our business decisions and working within a team to formulate and evaluate strategic options, providing constructive challenge and quantifying trade-offs to enable the delivery of value to the Expansion Programme. Working with cross-functional teams, they will support the Finance Business Partners, Expansion Capital Business Partnering in influencing to deliver maximum sustainable value, meet financial targets and making them aware of, and working with them to mitigate, potential risks. Colleagues across client will depend on this professional financial advice when making business decisions, tactical or strategic, with immediate effect or long term. Building and maintaining excellent relationships across all stakeholders to ensure integrity and consistency of evaluation of projects, financial performance, strategic planning and business investments is key. This will require great stakeholder management, financial knowledge, clarity, insight and evaluation skills with confidence to operate across a number of teams at senior levels. This is a 6-month role to support the Programme as the permanent team is recruited.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Business partnering to provide insight and analysis to drive decisions
  • Review and challenge cost base, drivers and identify opportunities
  • Benchmarking performance - financial, non-financial vs. other airports/industries
  • Supporting with investment analysis and benefits tracking
  • Supporting and influencing key commercial and strategic decisions balancing customer service with cost/revenue
  • Building strong relationships with key stakeholders such that key financial decisions are only taken with finance business partner advice & oversight
  • Working with stakeholders to deliver meaningful value adding business cases
  • Minimising risk to the business

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Significant experience with business partnering Capital functions in comparable sized businesses
  • Proven experience of dealing with non-Finance colleagues and influencing them to add financial value to the business and minimise risk
  • Strong financial modelling skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commercial outlook
  • Fully Qualified Accountant, or Part Qualified with extensive QBE experience
