PAY RATE: £14.57 per hour
CONTRACT TYPE: 1 month - Temporary
LOCATION: Edinburgh, Scotland
THE ROLE: The Handyperson will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard. The role involves fault finding, basic building fabric repairs, and supporting compliance tasks while delivering excellent service to the client.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across site
- Perform fault finding and basic diagnostics on building issues
- Complete planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
- Update CAFM systems and complete all required documentation accurately
- Ensure all works are completed safely, following H&S procedures
- Maintain plant rooms and work areas in a clean and tidy condition
- Escort and supervise subcontractors on-site when required
- Ensure professional communication with clients and stakeholders
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in general maintenance or facilities management
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of building fabric repairs
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and IT skills (CAFM systems)
- Reliable, flexible, and self-motivated
DESIRABLE:
- Experience within facilities management (5+ years preferred)
- Legionella awareness
- Asbestos awareness
- MEWP Licence
- First Aid training
- Experience working in a client-facing environment
