Carbon60 is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to support technical M&E investigations, remediation, and closeout activities across complex facilities in Oxfordshire.
ROLE: Project Manager - M&E / Building Services
PAY RATE: Negotiable
CONTRACT TYPE: May - September | 40 hours per week
LOCATION: Oxfordshire, UK
THE ROLE: The successful candidate will act as a technical M&E Project Manager focused on investigating, validating, and resolving legacy system issues across complex facilities. The role requires a hands-on and technically confident individual who can coordinate between operations teams, clients, and specialist subcontractors to drive investigations and remedial actions through to completion. The Project Manager will be site-based 5 days per week, working proactively to support client needs while managing highly varied technical and operational challenges across complex M&E systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct technical investigations across systems including fire alarms, electrical infrastructure, compressors, freezers, water, and air systems.
- Review commissioning records, O&M manuals, test results, and drawings to identify gaps and corrective actions.
- Lead root-cause analysis activities and present findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Coordinate recommissioning, testing, repairs, and remedial works with subcontractors and specialists.
- Act as the key point of contact between client, operations teams, and contractors.
- Support project controls including scopes of work, risk management, SHEQ/CDM compliance, and progress reporting.
- Ensure all system documentation, asset data, and handover information is accurate and complete.
- Identify additional system issues and manage them through to resolution.
- Maintain strong stakeholder communication and contractor oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven Project Management experience within M&E, FM, or Building Services environments.
- Strong technical understanding across mechanical, electrical, BMS, and life-safety systems.
- Background in commissioning, technical investigations, engineering closeout, or remedial projects.
- Excellent stakeholder management and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
- Good understanding of CDM and SHEQ compliance.
- Basic DBS required.
DESIRABLE:
- Technical qualifications within Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction disciplines.
- Previous experience within pharmaceutical or highly regulated environments.
- Experience working within complex critical facilities or live operational sites.
