Lorien's leading banking client is looking for a Trade Validation SME to join the Product Control / Trade Validation function within a leading global Investment Bank.

The team provides independent control of trading activity, ensuring Credit Derivative transactions are accurately represented from

Front Office trade capture through the full Front-to-Back (F2B) lifecycle and into post-trade systems .

This is a senior SME role combining deep Credit Derivatives expertise, Trade Validation/Operations knowledge and Change & Transformation experience .

This role is based in London.

This role will be Via Umbrella.

Working in a Hybrid Model of 2-3 days a week on site.

  • Key Skills
  • Act as the

Credit Derivatives SME across the EMEA Trade Validation perimeter, providing functional expertise to production teams.

  • Own and support change, migration and transformation initiatives impacting Credit Derivatives.
  • Work closely with

Sales & Trading, Middle Office, Back Office, Technology and global project teams .

  • Analyse and map end-to-end Front-to-Back trade lifecycle workflows , identifying and resolving complex cross-functional issues.
  • Drive process re-engineering, automation and control improvements to increase efficiency and reduce operational risk.
  • Partner with Technology to resolve systemic issues, improve production performance and enhance SLAs.
  • Define business requirements for IT developments and support prioritisation of Operations technology initiatives.
  • Review standard/non-standard processes and ensure appropriate operational controls are in place.
  • Develop and enhance

KPIs/KRIs , analyse incidents and contribute to remediation/action plans.

  • Support production monitoring, reporting, SLA reviews and management dashboards.
  • Assess the operational impact of new business, regulatory, client and strategic initiatives .
  • Act as a senior point of contact for Front Office, Operations, Technology and other stakeholders.
  • Lead decision-making on complex Credit Derivatives operational and trade lifecycle issues.
  • Provide training, mentoring and knowledge transfer across global teams.
  • Key Experience
  • Professional qualification required with expert technical knowledge and experience in systems and business domain on the Credit perimeter F2B chain, typically gained within another top tier investment bank.
  • Experience in projects: Migration & Transformation
  • Expert in systems and business domain on the Credit perimeter F2B chain
  • Good working knowledge of a wide range of Operations policies, procedures, regulations, and legislation and an understanding of operational risk and permanent control framework
  • Detailed knowledge of specific operational principles and processes and able to translate knowledge and experience into recommendations to improve practices.
  • High degree of interest in product and process issues affecting the department.
  • Effective time management and ability to prioritise workload and escalate issues to management.
  • Computer literacy and a good understanding of relevant software.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate technical concepts and provide specialist guidance and advice to others.
  • Excellent written and oral skills in order to articulate technical issues and to be able to take the complex and make simple to enable effective communication with individuals across the business.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and re–prioritizing work throughout the day.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to train and nurture new joiners to the team(s) by setting clear training programmes.
