We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join a leading investment banking client on a 6-month contract. This role will focus on leading the delivery of high-performance, scalable systems within a complex financial environment.
The successful candidate will bring a strong hands-on engineering background alongside proven leadership experience, particularly with distributed or remote teams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise-grade applications
- Provide technical leadership across the full software development lifecycle
- Drive best practices in system architecture, performance, and scalability
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, architecture, and operations
- Manage and mentor distributed/remote engineering teams
- Ensure high-quality code standards, reviews, and continuous improvement
- Work closely with stakeholders within an investment banking environment
- Strong hands-on experience with: Java, Kafka, Oracle, Angular
- Proven experience in a Technical Lead or similar leadership role
- Experience managing remote or distributed teams
- Strong understanding of system architecture and integration patterns
- Experience working within investment banking or financial services
- Experience with Prime services/systems (nice to have)
- Hybrid working: 50% onsite in London
