Remote First Working – UK Wide.

Financial Services

Lorien’s leading global banking client is seeking a senior SharePoint Content Migration Strategy Manager to join a major enterprise‑wide transformation programme. This is a high‑impact role responsible for designing and building the content migration strategy from scratch, securing Board‑ and ExCo‑level buy‑in, and leading both the strategy phase and Phase 2 delivery of the migration to SharePoint Online.

You will combine strong technical SharePoint platform expertise with senior stakeholder influence, acting as a trusted advisor while driving the migration from concept through to successful execution. The role is UK‑wide, operated in a remote‑first model, and engaged via umbrella.

Key Skills and Experience
  • Design, build, and own the end‑to‑end content migration strategy from inception, defining the target approach for migrating legacy platforms to SharePoint Online.
  • Assess, evaluate, and recommend migration approaches, tooling, and architectural options, producing materials for approval via formal governance and decision‑making forums.
  • Influence, manage, and engage senior stakeholders up to Board and Executive Committee level, confidently selling the strategy, securing sponsorship, and driving alignment.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed migration roadmap, covering milestones, risks, dependencies, assumptions, and mitigation strategies.
  • Define the overall migration and SharePoint delivery framework, including process, platform design, data quality standards, governance, security, and compliance considerations.
  • Own Phase 2 delivery, transitioning from strategy into execution and ensuring the migration is delivered in line with the approved roadmap.
  • Provide technical leadership across the SharePoint Online platform, leveraging deep hands‑on experience to shape design decisions, solution architecture, and migration outcomes.
  • Define resourcing and capability requirements, supporting onboarding and mobilisation of delivery teams where required.
  • Lead and coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver the migration effectively, on time, and to quality standards.
  • Work closely with business, technology, and programme stakeholders to ensure content is migrated accurately, securely, and in line with regulatory and business requirements.
  • Ensure alignment with the wider transformation programme, managing interdependencies across parallel workstreams.
  • Deliver clear progress reporting and insight to programme governance, steering committees, and senior leadership forums.
  • Translate complex technical architecture and migration detail into clear, executive‑level communication for non‑technical stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience building and owning content migration strategies from scratch, through to successful delivery.
  • Strong, hands‑on technical experience designing and building SharePoint Online platforms within enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated delivery of large‑scale SharePoint or content migration programmes, ideally within regulated or complex organisations.
  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders, engaging confidently with Board‑ and ExCo‑level stakeholders.
  • Experience selling strategic recommendations and driving consensus across competing priorities.
  • Background leading delivery teams through Phase 2 execution, not just strategy and design.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge deep technical detail and executive decision‑making.
  • Comfortable operating in a remote‑first, UK‑wide delivery model.
  • Banking or financial services experience is highly desirable.
