Lorien's leading banking client is looking for Technical Solutions Architects to support a major retail banking organisation during a period of reâorganisation. These roles have been created to address a capacity gap within architecture and engineering, ensuring delivery remains on track as the business progresses to market. The organisation is engineeringâled, with strong software engineering teams, and requires architects who can operate in a blended roleâhandsâon when needed, strategic when required, and always collaborative. Multiple roles are available, aligned to different workstreams across the same programme, including customer journey and layered architecture initiatives, with a particular focus on retail banking platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver HighâLevel Solution Designs (HLSDs) aligned to retail banking standards
- Translate business requirements into clear, pragmatic technical solutions
- Work closely with software engineers, delivery leads, and other architects to shape and challenge solutions in a constructive way
- Engage effectively with business and technology teams, influencing outcomes and technology choices
- Support goâtoâmarket delivery where previous roles have struggled to pass internal architectural review
- Champion bestâfit technology decisions aligned with highâstreet banking environments
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned to enterprise architecture principles
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Solutions Architect or Senior Technical Architect within retail banking
- Strong engineering background, ideally originating from software engineering
- Demonstrable experience working on customer journeyâled architectures and platform layering
- Solid integration experience, including:
- Kafka / eventâdriven architecture
- APIâled integration
- Javaâbased services
- Cloud experience, with a strong preference for AWS
