Position: Medical Records Clerk

Location: Unit 11B Lingfield Close, Lingfield Point, Darlington, DL1 1AX

Pay: £12.90ph

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week

Shifts: Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm with a 30 minute lunch break

Job Purpose

Performing administrative tasks for patient medical records and associated documents in accordance with an established paper-based or electronic filing system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Creating, updating and maintaining patient medical record information in accordance with the local file management practices and the electronic or manual record filing system.
  • Retrieving, delivering and filing/storing patient records in accordance with daily scheduled, emergency and special project needs.
  • Reviewing medical records for completeness and accuracy of required information content and taking appropriate actions to assure record integrity.
  • Performing additional clerical and/or administrative duties as required in medical records department.

  • Previous administrative or clerical experience
  • Good level of computer literacy
  • Comfortable with manual handling and a role that involves physical activity
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Additional Information:

Comprehensive training will be provided along with ongoing support. A good level of computer literacy is needed, along side a good level of physical fitness as this role will involve manual handling too. Successful candidates will need to provide their own safety footwear. All applications will be subject to pre-employment screening, referencing checks, including a paid for DBS.
