Predominantly remote, candidate ideally based in the North West of England. Impactive have exclusively partnered with a start-up data consultancy building practical, high-impact data products that actually get used. If you enjoy solving messy business problems with data, not just building dashboards, this one’s worth a look. This is a growing data & analytics consultancy working at the intersection of business, data and technology. No fluff. No slide decks for the sake of it. Just practical, high-impact solutions that help organisations operate better.
This hire will join as the 5th person in the business, meaning real influence, real ownership, and a genuine seat at the table.
The role: You’ll join as an early hire in a small, high-performing team, taking end-to-end ownership of client engagements:
- Designing and implementing data-driven business intelligence or analytics solutions
- Using SQL and Python to explore, structure and analyse data
- Applying automation, scripting and application development where useful
- Exploring and applying emerging technologies, including generative AI, in practical and responsible ways
- Contributing to solution design that balances technical feasibility, business value and organisational impact
This isn’t a narrow specialist role. It’s built for a technical generalist who enjoys variety, responsibility, and seeing their work make a real difference.
Why it stands out:
- This is primarily a remote role, with occasional collaboration days in Manchester and infrequent travel, both domestically and internationally, depending on client and project requirements.
- High trust, low ego environment
- Genuine ownership and influence
- Exposure across analytics, automation & emerging tech
What This Role Is (and Is Not)
- It is a consulting role, not a pure software development position
- It is not a sales role
- It is not a formal solutions architect position, though there are elements of solution design and architecture involved
- It draws on aspects of technical consulting, business analysis, solution design and project delivery
