Leeds City Centre (Office-Based)

Impactive is continuing its exclusive partnership with a growing technology and data scale-up based in Leeds City Centre.

As part of their continued growth, they are looking to add a Part-Time Finance Officer to the team, working 2-3 days per week.

This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable taking ownership of the day-to-day finance and can operate independently without needing constant direction.

The Role

We're looking for someone who can take responsibility for the core finance and accounting activities of the business, ensuring everything is accurate, up to date, and running smoothly.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be processing invoices and ticking boxes. You'll have visibility across the wider business and will play an important role in maintaining financial control, supporting reporting, and helping the business make informed financial decisions.

The role would suit someone with solid experience across finance or accounts who enjoys working in an SME environment and is comfortable getting stuck into a broad range of responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Managing day-to-day finance and accounting activities
  • Processing sales and purchase invoices
  • Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Raising customer invoices and monitoring outstanding payments
  • Processing supplier invoices and payments
  • Completing regular bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining accurate financial records within Xero
  • Managing expenses and company transactions
  • Supporting month-end processes and management reporting
  • Assisting with cash flow monitoring and forecasting
  • Supporting VAT returns and wider financial compliance
  • Liaising with customers, suppliers and external accountants
  • Identifying and resolving discrepancies and financial queries
  • Helping improve and streamline existing finance processes
  • Providing accurate financial information to senior management when required

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 1 year's hands-on experience using Xero – essential
  • 1+ years' experience within Finance, Accounts, Bookkeeping or a similar role
  • Good understanding of core accounting principles
  • Experience with invoicing, payments, expenses and bank reconciliations
  • Comfortable managing accounts payable and receivable
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership
  • Proactive and commercially minded
  • Experience working within an SME environment would be beneficial
  • AAT qualification or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential

Above all else, we're looking for someone who is reliable, proactive, commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership.

You don't need to be a fully qualified accountant. We're more interested in someone with strong practical finance experience who can come into the business, get up to speed quickly and confidently manage the day-to-day finance function.

Xero experience is essential, with a minimum of 1 year's practical experience required.

Interview Process

The interview process will begin with an initial 30-minute conversation via MS Teams.

Candidates progressing to the next stage will have the opportunity to meet the wider team and discuss the role, responsibilities and business in more detail.

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, organised, commercially aware and comfortable working autonomously in a growing business.

Visa Sponsorship is not available for this role.
