About Pathway Fund
Pathway Fund is a social investment initiative founded in 2022 with a mission to catalyse opportunities for Black and minoritised communities across England. The organisation operates as a mission-driven investor, utilising capital to support organisations and ventures that deliver positive social impact in underserved communities. The fund partners strategically with mission-driven organisations, social enterprises, and community groups to expand access to opportunity and build long-term resilience in communities that have historically faced systemic barriers. The organisation is committed to equity, inclusion, and collaborative working within the social investment space. Pathway Fund positions itself as a leading racial equity investment wholesaler, working to strengthen the institutional capacity of the sector while advancing its core mission of community wealth building. The fund operates with a values-led approach, embedding principles of equity and inclusion across all its operations and investment decisions. Pathway Fund’s Investment Strategy, recently approved by the Board, sets a clear direction for the organisation’s activities. The fund manages multiple asset classes and operates the Fund Manager Incubator (FMI) programme, which serves as a cornerstone initiative to develop and strengthen the capacity of fund managers and intermediaries working within racial equity and social impact investment spaces. The organisation works across programme delivery, operations, and communications to ensure cohesive execution of its strategic objectives and impact goals.
About this Role
The Senior Investment Manager role represents a critical leadership position within Pathway Fund, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This is a permanent position based in London that combines investment leadership with strategic programme management responsibilities. The role is designed to lead the implementation phase of Pathway Fund’s Investment Strategy, following Board approval. The Senior Investment Manager will drive three interconnected areas of focus: capital mobilisation and investment execution for Pathway’s asset classes and Fund Manager Incubator programme funds; leadership of the FMI programme to ensure its successful development and evolution as a cornerstone of Pathway’s 2030 strategy; and external representation that articulates Pathway’s investment approach to investors, partners, and sector stakeholders. The successful candidate will oversee the execution of approved investment strategies, manage investor relationships, supervise portfolio management activities, and drive key organisational initiatives critical to Pathway’s long-term vision. Additionally, the role requires cross-functional collaboration with programme, operations, and communications teams to embed strategic initiatives and strengthen the organisation’s institutional capacity. Success in the first 12 to 18 months will be measured by securing initial Asset Class capital commitments and establishing a robust pipeline, delivering FMI 3.0 and future iterations to agreed milestones, ensuring the Investment Committee operates fully with regular performance reporting, strengthening organisational systems to support efficient investment and project delivery, and reinforcing Pathway’s reputation as a leading racial equity investment wholesaler through external engagement.
