About this Role
As a Portfolio Manager at Pangea, you will be responsible for the daily operations and management of high yield private debt investments within our Energy Transition Fund. This position involves thorough financial analysis and cashflow modelling, reflecting a commitment to proactive risk management and sustained investor capital protection. You will actively review and challenge management information while liaising with internal and external advisors to maintain credit integrity within the portfolio. In this role, you will manage key relationships, present high-quality investment proposals, and work closely with senior team members to support commercial negotiations. With the expectation to navigate sophisticated portfolio structures, you will be pivotal in driving strategic execution within our team, requiring collaboration with various internal departments to ensure timely and robust portfolio oversight.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day management of an assigned portfolio, including relationship management and financial analysis.
- Review and challenge management information to maintain credit quality and flag emerging issues.
- Track performance versus business plans, borrowing bases, and key financial KPIs.
- Review transaction/legal documentation and ensure appropriate portfolio governance.
- Support senior team members in commercial negotiations and documentation processes.
- Maintain senior-level communication with borrowers, sponsors, management teams, and advisers.
- Produce and present high-quality investment memos and quarterly portfolio reporting.
- Partner closely with internal Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
- Provide oversight/support to junior team members.
Requirements
- Strong infrastructure investing background with knowledge of energy transition/renewables.
- Excellent financial analysis skills with ability to apply judgement beyond numbers.
- Portfolio management experience with exposure to Investment Committee processes.
- Strong organisation/project management skills with end-to-end execution proficiency.
- High attention to detail and ownership of data quality and deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, clear and concise.
