About this Role
As a Senior Officer, Financing Partnerships, your role within the Europe, Middle East and East Asia (EMEEA) team will involve developing and managing innovative financing strategies. You will collaborate with key stakeholders, including Development Finance Institutions, philanthropic entities, and private investors, to leverage resources across our markets. The position demands strategic mapping of capital sources, developing structured financing opportunities, and leading collaborative deal teams. Reporting to the Director, Europe, this role will require you to work closely with EMEEA Country Engagement Leads, the Philanthropic Partnerships Team, and regional offices. The role is a limited-term position for 24 months, based in our London office, with no provisions for relocation.
Responsibilities
- Engage with internal teams to understand financing needs and identify opportunities for using non-grant finance for impact.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key institutions and develop new ones, ensuring high partner satisfaction.
- Execute partnership approaches aligning with our foundation’s strategy and lead collaborative deal teams to ensure delivery.
- Define transaction terms and negotiate with external counterparts on structures.
- Support programmatic delivery of partnerships/deals.
- Work cross-functionally with advocacy and strategy teams to integrate partner goals and priorities.
- Address challenges in partnerships proactively to maintain and strengthen relationships.
- Measure and report on partnership performance with strategic insights.
- Represent the foundation at strategic engagements, strengthening existing relationships and developing new ones.
- Assist leadership in evolving the external financing strategy and achieving objectives across the division.
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree (Masters or PhD preferred) in business, finance, science, or related field.
- Extensive experience with key institutions in EMEEA markets, including governments and DFIs.
- Experience with development finance and managing multimillion investment portfolios.
- Proven experience in financial transactions from terms definition through negotiation and signing.
- Strong financial analysis, modeling, and project management skills.
- Expertise in developing strong partnerships and relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, business analytics, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively across large institutions and cultural contexts.
- Must be able to work legally in the UK without visa sponsorship.
