Impact Training is one of Belfast’s longest-established training providers, delivering training and employment support programmes for young people and adults. We help learners aged 16–24 overcome barriers to education, training, and employment, providing guidance, work experience, and personal development opportunities.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated Vocational Experiences Coach – Employer Engagement/Job Coach to join our Vocational Experiences Team. The successful candidate will support learners in achieving their career aspirations by securing work placements, building employer partnerships, and facilitating employability programmes. This role requires a strong understanding of regional labour market trends and proven ability to match learners with suitable vocational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise with employers to identify and secure work placement opportunities for approximately 400 learners.
- Maintain and expand the employer database, ensuring effective matching between learners and employers.
- Facilitate careers‑related job club sessions to help learners understand the world of work, legislative requirements, and vocational expectations.
- Use learner assessment information to plan and deliver personalised employability support.
- Coach and mentor learners throughout their training programmes to develop skills for career progression.
- Collaborate with tutors to align work placements with learners’ professional and technical interests.
- Maintain accurate records of learner participation, work placements, and progression.
- Develop formal partnerships with employers to create sustainable, long‑term opportunities.
- Promote learners’ achievements and embed a culture of work‑related experience across programmes.
- Ensure compliance with organisational processes, health, safety, and administrative standards.
- Contribute to marketing and promotion of Impact Training services.
Essential Criteria
- Relevant professional or 3rd Level qualification (e.g., IAG Level 3/4, Careers Guidance, Coaching).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in employer engagement, recruitment, or placement support.
- Knowledge of local and national employability initiatives, government training, and employment schemes (e.g., Skills for Life and Work, Apprenticeships).
- Experience facilitating groups with diverse support needs.
- Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience supporting young people aged 16–24 to overcome barriers to education, training, or employment.
- Understanding of regional labour market trends and placement modelling.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office and AI applications.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- D32/33, A1/2, or TAQA qualification.
