About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Security Strategy Consultant to support the ongoing development and refinement of our client’s security strategy. The end client is a leading international insurance company. You will work closely with stakeholders across Security, Architecture, IT, and business units to assess current progress, review priorities, and shape a robust, forward-looking security strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews with a broad range of stakeholders across Security, Architecture, IT, and business units to gather insights and perspectives.
- Assess progress against the current security strategy, identifying gaps, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Review and prioritize existing and emerging requirements.
- Identify obsolete elements that can be retired.
- Draft the initial version of a revised security strategy, incorporating stakeholder input and business objectives.
- Present the draft strategy to the steering group, gather feedback, and revise the document accordingly.
- Present the updated strategy to the original stakeholder group, facilitating feedback and discussion.
- Redraft the strategy as needed, ensuring alignment with business and technical goals.
- Test the near-final version with the steering group, make final adjustments, and produce the final strategy documentation.
Required Capabilities & Skills:
- Security Expertise: Ability to engage in detailed discussions on security topics, ranging from technical specifics to business impact.
- Translation Skills: Proven ability to translate business requirements into actionable security programs (e.g., identity management solutions).
- Communication & Documentation: Strong experience producing clear, professional documentation and presentations (PowerPoint). Experience with version control and document management best practices.
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and provide actionable recommendations.
