We are seeking a Linux divestment engineer to engineer a standardized and automated process to support the migration of infrastructure included in the sale of Business Units. The bank's infrastructure needs to be sanitized and security hardened when being sold or prepared for data migration to third parties. Sanitization includes uninstalling software and proprietary information, certificates and configuration that is specific to the bank. Work will take place on both weekdays and weekends to support migrations.
As an Automation Engineer/Architect you will contribute to and maintain an existing body of code which supports the phased removal and restoration, if necessary, of specific software and files and network configuration. Responsibilities include:
- Auditing of Software and OS versions to provide evidence to Security teams.
- Working with security and system logs to review for vulnerabilities and issues highlighted by Cyber Security teams.
- Consult on Cyber Security issues.
- Provide guidance and work closely with application and product teams to resolve technical challenges, e.g., storage migrations.
Experience:
- Extensive experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux in financial/regulatory organisations.
- Interact with application teams and other infrastructure teams.
- Understanding of functional requirements and translation of business requirements into technical specifications.
- Proactively identify problem situations and resolve to give maximum customer satisfaction.
- Participate in stakeholder/delivery team calls.
- Demonstrate analytical and problem management skills.
- Suggest and implement best-in-class industry practices in the projects, as applicable.
Technical Skills:
- Shall be proficient in Linux (RHEL) Operating System and Cluster environment (VCS Infoscale).
- Have experience of DevOps tools, orchestration, and configuration management on Ansible/Jenkins/Puppet.
- Have good experience of scripting in Python/Shell/Puppet for data management tasks.
- Experience of VMware/Virtualization/Hypervisor.
- Knowledge of networking and how it relates to the OS – TCP/IP, port management, firewalls.
- Should have Mulesoft/Postman experience.
- Development of APIs and integration with Ansible playbooks etc.
- Git.
- Agile.
- Non-RHEL Unix flavours (Solaris/AIX/SLES).
