Join us as a SEN Teaching Assistant in an SEN School. We are supporting a well-established SEN school in recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant with experience working with children with Autism. The role will involve supporting verbal and non-verbal pupils within an inclusive classroom environment, focusing on sensory needs and communication support. Experience with PECS and Makaton would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure students continuously challenge themselves to improve.
  • Establish and maintain the standards of pupil behaviour required to create an orderly and productive environment.
  • Strong understanding of mental health challenges in children and adolescents.
  • Experience in implementing strategies to support emotional well-being.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, as well as a PGCE or equivalent Teaching qualification.
  • Eligible for British QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Proven classroom experience or training.
