About the Role
Our client, a leading organization in the transport and logistics industry, is seeking a skilled HSE Manager to lead and oversee their Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with local and international regulations while fostering a culture of safety and environmental awareness across the organization. With a strong focus on road safety, logistics, and transport management, the HSE Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and efficient operations in road freight and related activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Design and deliver HSE training programs for employees at all levels, with an emphasis on road safety and transport operations.
- Lead incident investigations, analyze root causes, and prepare detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and international standards.
- Coordinate emergency response planning, including conducting drills and simulations.
- Maintain comprehensive HSE documentation, including policies, risk assessments, and incident records.
- Drive initiatives to promote a safety-conscious culture across the organization, particularly within logistics and transport functions.
- Collaborate with various departments to integrate HSE best practices into operational processes, including road freight and logistics management.
- Prepare and present HSE performance reports, key metrics, and improvement plans to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes to implement relevant improvements.
Mandatory Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in HSE roles.
- At least 5 years of experience specifically in road safety and land transport.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the oil and gas sector is highly desirable.
- Experience working in Oman or the GCC region
