Impact Student Partners is a Non-Medical Helper (NMH) Provider that specialises in supporting students with disabilities including Autism. We partner with Higher Education institutions such as universities and colleges across the UK.
We are currently recruiting for Study Skills Tutors (ASC) based in London that can offer a hybrid approach to supporting students with autism – this means you must be able to provide both online and in-person support.
Responsibilities:As a One-to-One Study Skills (ASC), you will be responsible for supporting students during their studies and helping them to develop effective learning strategies including:
- Understanding assignment expectations – helping students to understand ambiguous or complex questions
- Structuring essays and coursework – developing logical essay plans and organising ideas into clear arguments
- Managing academic reading
- Executive functioning for coursework – realistically blocking, estimating and managing time
- Academic writing skills
- Notetaking and processing information
- Support for exams and assessments – interpretation of questions and structuring responses
It is essential that you hold:
- A university degree
- Teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, AFHEA, Cert Ed, DELTA or a relevant professional body membership with BDA, PASSHE, PATOSS or Dyslexia Guild
- Training in Autism such as the NAS modules
Ideally you will have capacity to support students on a hybrid basis, both in-person and online to accommodate student needs.
Pay and benefits:You will be employed on a temporary basis and can choose to support as many students as you wish. There is a huge amount of flexibility available to you and we offer a competitive hourly rate.
