Impact Recruitment are working with a well-established precision engineering company who are looking to recruit a Tool Maker to join their experienced tool room team in Wellingborough. This role will involve manufacturing and assembling plastic injection moulding tools using conventional machinery, working closely from technical drawings to produce high-quality tooling for production. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool Maker who enjoys traditional machining methods and wants to be involved in the full tooling build process within a stable and growing engineering business.
Location: Wellingborough
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: Monday - Thursday 07:30 - 16:00, Friday 07:30 - 15:00
Weekly Hours: 39 hours
Contract: Permanent
Duties:
- Manufacture and assemble plastic injection moulding tools from technical drawings
- Work with conventional machinery including lathes, saws, drills, and other manual machine tools
- Fit, assemble, and test injection mould tooling components
- Carry out tool repairs, servicing, and modifications when required
- Ensure tooling is produced to precise tolerances and high quality standards
- Work closely with colleagues within the tool room to support tooling projects
- Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment
The Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience working as a Tool Maker within injection mould tooling
- Strong experience using conventional/manual machining equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Experience building and assembling plastic injection mould tools
- High attention to detail and strong precision engineering skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a small tool room team
- A proactive and problem-solving approach to engineering challenges
