An ambitious and fast-growing engineering business operating within the renewables sector is expanding its projects team and looking for a capable, hands-on Field Service Engineer to support UK-wide installations. This is a physically active, field-based role offering real ownership, variety and long-term progression in a sector that continues to grow at pace.
The RoleYou will play a key part in delivering infrastructure installations across renewable energy sites throughout the UK, working closely with the Project Manager and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and to specification. From first fix to commissioning, you will be involved in:
- Carrying out groundworks including small excavations, trenching and reinstatement
- Installing poles, containment and mounting structures
- Mounting electrical enclosures and dry-fitting components
- Pulling, terminating and splicing power and data cabling (including Cat 6 / Cat 7)
- Installing and positioning cameras, sensors and access equipment
- Conducting system walk tests and assisting with commissioning
- Diagnosing faults and rectifying on-site technical issues
- Interpreting electrical schematics, site layouts and civils drawings
- Liaising with project teams to overcome site challenges and maintain progress
- Ensuring all works are completed in line with health and safety standards
Work is primarily outdoors and continues in most weather conditions. Travel across the UK is required, including regular working away from home during the week. This role will suit someone who enjoys practical, varied site work and takes pride in delivering high-quality installations.
About You- CSCS or ECS card (preferably)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working on construction or engineering sites
- Confident reading electrical drawings and site plans
- Comfortable with physically demanding, outdoor work
- Flexible and willing to travel nationwide
- Electrical qualifications, plant licences or previous experience in infrastructure, security or utilities projects would be advantageous
- £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
