Their Wellingborough site includes a fresh produce packing facility, and they are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team on a permanent basis. This is a predominantly mechanical role with electrical elements, working across production machinery and site equipment, with a good level of autonomy for an ambitious engineer looking to develop their skills. Location: Wellingborough Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 07:00 - 15:30 (Monday - Friday may also be available) Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 (Negotiable depending on experience) Contract: Permanent Duties: Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment. Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance to minimise downtime. Fault-find, repair and maintain production machinery including conveyors, labelling machinery, sealing equipment and other production lines. Carry out inspections, servicing and general maintenance to ensure equipment remains safe and reliable. Complete workshop maintenance, repairs and general engineering tasks using hand and power tools. Identify recurring faults and contribute to improvements in machinery reliability. Support continuous improvement and automation projects across the site. Order spare parts and maintain accurate engineering records. Work closely with the Operations team to minimise downtime and keep production running efficiently. Maintain high standards of health & safety, food hygiene and housekeeping.The ideal candidate must: Have a strong mechanical engineering or maintenance background. Have good electrical knowledge and the ability to carry out basic electrical fault finding. Have experience with planned and reactive maintenance. Be confident fault finding and diagnosing mechanical issues. Be hands-on and comfortable carrying out repairs and maintenance across a production environment. Be able to work independently and take ownership of tasks. Have strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn and develop.Desirable: 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualification. Previous multi-skilled engineering experience. Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or a similar production environment. Experience working with conveyors, labelling, packaging or similar production machinery. Experience with automation or continuous improvement projects.
