Impact Recruitment are currently working with a well-established business based in Wellingborough who are looking to recruit a Test Technician to join their Service Centre team on a permanent basis. This is a varied, technical, and rewarding role for someone who enjoys working with tools, diagnosing faults and restoring products to a high standard.
Location: Wellingborough
Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £31k – £35k per annum (DOE)
Contract: Permanent
Duties:
- Processing customer returns accurately and efficiently
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out repairs on returned equipment
- Reconditioning products for reuse or recycling
- Liaising with suppliers regarding warranty and non-warranty items
- Preparing quotations and assessing repair viability
- Supporting new product launches through testing and quality checks
- Communicating with customers via email and telephone regarding technical queries
- Maintaining accurate records and internal documentation
- Ensuring Health & Safety procedures are followed at all times
- Assisting with manual handling using pallet trucks and other handling equipment
The ideal candidate:
- Is good with their hands and confident using tools
- Has a natural interest in fixing, building or repairing things
- May have completed a college course in engineering, mechanics, electronics or similar (not essential)
- Could come from a workshop, production, mechanical, electrical or technical background (preferred but not essential)
- Is reliable, well organised and has strong attention to detail
- Has a positive, \”can-do\” attitude and is willing to learn
- Is comfortable working independently and as part of a small team
