Impact Recruitment are working with a client to recruit an experienced Wood Machinist to join their team on a permanent basis. You'll be joining a well established business that manufactures bespoke kitchen furniture and cabinetry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a growing business where quality craftsmanship, precision machining and attention to detail are at the heart of everything they produce.
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
Location: Northampton, Lodge Farm Industrial Estate
Salary: £14.00-£16.00 per hour depending on experience
Responsibilities:
- Operate beam saws, edge banders and other relevant woodworking machinery.
- Machine wood and sheet material components accurately to technical drawings and specifications.
- Carry out cutting, edging, sizing, shaping and other manufacturing tasks.
- Prepare and process a range of wood and sheet materials for production.
- Quality check components throughout the machining process.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy, finish and attention to detail.
- Follow all health and safety procedures and safe machine operating practices.
- Support other areas of the workshop and production operation when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working area.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Wood Machinist, CNC Machinist or Workshop Machinist within a woodworking, joinery or manufacturing environment.
- Experience operating beam saws, edge banders or similar woodworking machinery.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail with a quality-focused approach to work.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
- Good practical skills and a strong understanding of wood manufacturing processes.
- Reliable, consistent and proactive approach to work.
- Willingness to support different areas of the workshop when required.
