Impact Recruitment are recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Maintenance Engineer on behalf of a well established and growing food manufacturing business based in Milton Keynes. As a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across a range of food production machinery and site equipment. Working as part of the engineering team, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting efficient production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across production machinery and site equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and production issues.
- Maintain and support a range of food manufacturing equipment including ovens, steamers, chillers, processing machinery, conveyors and automated systems.
- Work closely with production teams to maximise machine availability and improve operational efficiency.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete relevant documentation.
- Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in line with company procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience working within a food manufacturing environment.
- Electrically biased Maintenance Engineering background.
- 17th or 18th Edition electrical qualification (or equivalent).
- A proactive approach with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
- Ability to work independently and make effective decisions during night shifts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with production teams.
- Machine operating/minding experience is desirable.
- Welding/fabrication experience is desirable.
- Experience working with steam equipment is desirable.
