Impact Recruitment are proud to be recruiting a Field Service Technician for a respected and growing engineering business based in Northampton. This is a permanent, full-time role that offers the best of both worlds: 75% of your time will be based in their fully equipped Northampton workshop, with around 4 site visits per week across the UK and Ireland.

Location: Northampton | On-site
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-6:00pm (Flexible)
Pay: £45,000 – £52,000 per annum (DOE)
Key Responsibilities:
* Service, maintain, and repair a range of specialist heavy plant and construction equipment
* Diagnose faults in diesel engines, electrical systems, and electro-hydraulic components
* Work both in the Northampton workshop (75%) and on-site (3-4 visits per week) across the UK and Ireland
* Carry out inspections and preventative maintenance to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability
* Deliver on-site support with professionalism and efficiency, including occasional overnight stays (fully covered)
* Collaborate with the internal engineering team to resolve issues and share technical insights
* Log and complete service reports to meet company and industry standards
Requirements:
* Experience working on heavy plant, construction, or industrial machinery
* Strong mechanical knowledge: diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics
* A valid CSCS card or relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds)
* A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
