Impact Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced CNC Milling Machinist on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturer in Leicester. This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern and well-equipped manufacturing environment with a strong focus on quality, precision, and efficiency.
Location: Leicester
Hours: Rotating shifts - Early Shift: 06:00-14:00 | Late Shift: 13:45-21:45
Hourly Rate: £16-£17 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret CAD drawings and production specifications.
- Set and operate CNC milling machines using FANUC control systems (3-Axis or 5-Axis).
- Edit CNC programs as required (programming experience is desirable).
- Work with ALPHA CAM software to programme and draw.
- Convert files from DXF, DWG, and STP formats to produce accurate drawings from customer descriptions or sketches.
- Optimise tool speeds and feeds to maintain high manufacturing demands while ensuring required tolerances and maximising tool life.
- Inspect and verify parts using precision gauges.
- Ensure production quality and output levels are optimised.
- Complete works orders and update internal software ('Booking Point').
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in setting and operating 3 or 5-Axis CNC milling machines with FANUC controls.
- Ability to edit CNC programs (full programming experience is advantageous).
- Familiarity with ALPHA CAM software is desirable.
- Any apprenticeship or formal training in Mechanical/Production Engineering or the Woodworking industry would be beneficial.
