Our client is a company who specialise in providing vertical access solutions, including elevators, construction hoists, and work platforms, primarily for industrial and construction applications. As a Breakdown & Service Engineer you will be carrying out maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, and provide technical support on products across the UK, ensuring all tasks are completed in line with internal and external customer requirements. Location: M25 Area, will also cover anywhere in the UK. Salary: Starting at £45,000 (depending on experience) Hours 8am-5pm Mon-Fri (1-hour unpaid break) Overtime available Key Responsibilities Carry out maintenance, fault finding, repairs, and technical support on Alimak products across the UK. If authorised, perform inspections, tests, commissioning, training, and site surveys. Complete all paperwork (e.g. reports, timesheets) accurately and on time. Follow all company policies, procedures, training, and safety systems. Represent Alimak UK professionally in appearance, behaviour, and conduct on customer sites. Follow all site-specific rules and procedures when working at customer locations. Be flexible to meet business and customer needs, including working extra hours or staying away from home. Take part in the emergency out-of-hours standby rota when required. Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, customer service, and efficiency. Take part in training and share knowledge to support team development. Follow all responsibilities under the company\’s Health & Safety Management System. Maintain good communication and relationships with customers, colleagues, and suppliers. Carry out other relevant field or workshop tasks as needed.Requirements Minimum 3 years\’ experience in a relevant engineering or technical field Proven electrical knowledge supported by relevant professional qualifications Experience with construction, industrial, access, or capital equipment (preferred) Ability to work independently as well as part of a wider team Strong technical learning and problem-solving skills Analytical and fact-based approach to decision making Clear, concise reporting and documentation skills Full UK driving licence essential Flexibility for travel and overnight stays required Benefits Company Sick Pay – Up to 2 weeks fully paid sick leave. Generous Pension Scheme – Company contributes 8% towards your pension. Overtime Pay – Time and a half paid for hours worked beyond 8 per day (on-site). Away-From-Home Bonus – £25 daily bonus when working away from home. All Travel Expenses Covered – Hotel accommodation fully paid by the company. Daily Meal Allowance – Up to £35 per day for evening meals and £15 per day towards lunch when working away. International Work Opportunities – Potential to work on global projects. Fully Equipped Company Van – Includes a fuel card for business use. Full-Day Pay Guarantee – If you complete your work early, you\’re still paid for a full day.
