Overview
MemoryJane Healthcare are looking for new Care Assistant Apprentices. You will be studying towards your Level 2 Apprenticeship in Care Assistance. The purpose of a Care Assistant Apprentice is to support individuals in maintaining their independence, dignity, and quality of life while learning the skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality care. Under supervision, you’ll assist with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, mobility support, and companionship, while completing training toward a recognised qualification in health and social care.
Responsibilities
- Provide Personal Care
- Assist individuals with daily tasks such as washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
- Support with mobility and transferring (e.g., using hoists or other aids safely)
- Help with meal preparation, feeding, and hydration
- Assist with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry when needed
- Encourage service users to do as much as they can for themselves
- Respect privacy, dignity, and personal choices at all times
- Provide companionship and emotional reassurance
- Support participation in social and recreational activities
- Work according to individual care plans
- Accurately record care provided and report any changes in health or wellbeing to senior staff
- Follow infection control, safeguarding, and health and safety procedures
- Use equipment safely and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Work closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality
- Take part in training and supervision to develop knowledge and skills
- Work toward completing the care qualification as part of the apprenticeship
Requirements
- Applicant should hold a valid UK Driving Licence, as well as access to their own car. Travel time and mileage will be paid for
- Be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Full time post of 37.5 hours a week will also be available
- Applicant must be able to work hours between 7am and 10pm. Monday to Sunday including bank holidays

Over the course of 15 – 18 months (dependent upon the level of course an apprentice is being enrolled onto), you will study modules such as personal development in care settings, the responsibilities of a care worker, handling information in care settings, implementing person-centred care plans, safeguarding & protection in care settings, duty of care in care settings, communication in care settings, equality & inclusion in care settings and health & safety and wellbeing in care settings (these units may differ).
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, you will achieve a Level 3 qualification and a TQUK Diploma in Care.
