School of Play delivers wraparound care, holiday camps and sports provision across 36+ primary schools in Greater Manchester.
We're looking for a Level 3 Early Years apprentice to join our wraparound team In Prestbury, working directly in school settings before and after the school day.
This isn't a sit-and-watch apprenticeship.
You'll be on the floor from day one, running activities, supporting children's development and learning how childcare works in a fast-paced, multi-site business.
You'll be paired with experienced staff and work towards your Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification while earning a wage
- What You'll Be Doing –
- Supporting the delivery of breakfast and after-school club sessions across one or more partner primary schools
- Planning and running age-appropriate activities for children aged 3-11
- Supervising children during free play, structured activities and meal/snack times
- Supporting children's emotional, social and physical development
- Maintaining a safe, clean and well-organised environment
- Following safeguarding procedures and reporting concerns through the correct channels
- Building relationships with children, parents and school staff
- Completing apprenticeship coursework, observations and portfolio work alongside your shift work
- What You'll Learn –
- You'll work towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, covering:
- Child development from birth to 7 years
- Safeguarding and child protection practice
- Health, safety and risk management in childcare settings
- Working with parents, carers and external agencies
- Planning and delivering activities that support learning through play
- SEND awareness and inclusive practice
- Who We're Looking For -
- A genuine interest in working with children — this comes through more than any qualification
- Reliable, on time, and able to commit to a regular working pattern
- Comfortable being active and hands-on, not stuck behind a desk
- Good communicator with both children and adults
- No formal childcare experience needed — we'll teach you. Attitude matters more than CV
