As a Domiciliary Carer at New Living, you will play a crucial role in providing personalised, compassionate care and support to our clients in their own homes. You will assist individuals with a wide range of daily living activities, helping them to maintain their independence, dignity, and overall well-being. Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
Role-Specific Duties (Delivering Direct Care):
- Assisting clients with personal hygiene routines, including washing, bathing, showering, dressing, grooming
- Administering or prompting medication safely and accurately
- Supporting clients with safe moving and handling, transfers, and mobility
- Planning and preparing nutritious and appealing meals
- Assisting with general tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean environment
- Providing a friendly, empathetic presence and emotional support
- Providing targeted support for clients with specific conditions
Working with Others (Collaboration & Communication):
- Building positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families
- Collaborating effectively with fellow carers and healthcare professionals
- Communicating professionally with GPs, district nurses, and social workers
- Promptly reporting any concerns or changes in client's health
Leading by Example (Values & Professionalism):
- Embodying core values of compassion, respect, integrity, and professionalism
- Maintaining high standards of personal presentation and conduct
- Strictly adhering to confidentiality policies
- Following all company policies and health and safety guidelines
Requirements -
- Previous care experience preferred but not essential (full training provided)
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
- Full driving license and access to a vehicle preferred
