- Job Purpose
The Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprentice will work under the supervision of registered pharmacy professionals while completing the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Standard.
The apprentice will develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to become a registered Pharmacy Technician, supporting the safe and effective supply of medicines and delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe preparation, dispensing, and supply of medicines under supervision.
- Accurately receive, process, and assemble prescriptions following standard operating procedures.
- Support stock management, including ordering, receiving, rotating, and checking pharmaceutical products.
- Maintain accurate records using pharmacy computer systems.
- Participate in the storage and disposal of medicines in accordance with legal and organisational requirements.
- Support the delivery of pharmacy services, including health promotion initiatives where appropriate.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, carers, healthcare professionals, and colleagues.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with data protection legislation.
- Follow all health and safety, infection prevention, and safeguarding procedures.
- Report incidents, errors, or concerns in accordance with organisational policies.
- Complete all apprenticeship learning activities, including coursework, assessments, and workplace evidence within agreed timescales.
- Attend off-the-job training as required by the apprenticeship programme.
- Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a commitment to continuous learning.

- GCSE Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics, or willingness to achieve these during the apprenticeship if eligible.
