The role
Reporting to the Head of Tuition, the Lead Tutor is responsible for overseeing curriculum development and delivery of learning programs, ensuring alignment with best practices in adult education. The role involves managing learning materials, virtual learning environments (VLEs), and facilitating effective learning experiences while collaborating with subject‑matter experts.
Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development & Design
- Develop and enhance curriculum materials in alignment with learning objectives.
- Integrate adult learning philosophies into course content.
- Maintain up‑to‑date curriculum reflecting industry trends and standards.
- Embed appropriate Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours (KSBs) for assessments.
- Learning Materials & VLE Management
- Create and maintain accessible and inclusive learning resources.
- Manage multimedia platforms (e.g., Zoom, online learning portals) for effective course delivery.
- Standardise and brand‑align course materials.
- Incorporate new research materials into learning content.
- Learning Event Delivery
- Identify and nurture relevant guest speakers and industry experts.
- Manage speaker budgets and scheduling for learning events.
- Facilitate discussions and engagement through digital platforms.
- Maximise discussion boards to enhance learner participation.
- Quality Assurance & Standardisation
- Align assessments with project‑based learning methodologies.
- Regularly review and update course materials for consistency and quality.
- Support the implementation of accessibility and inclusion best practices.
- Ensure compliance with academic standards and institutional policies.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams and subject‑matter experts to refine course content.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to tutors and facilitators.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in curriculum development and instructional design.
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and pedagogical approaches.
- Proficiency in managing virtual learning environments and digital learning tools.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
