Have you led sustainability or social impact initiatives that delivered real, measurable outcomes? Are you ready to lead an organisation’s social impact and ESG agenda at a strategic level? Impact Futures Group are looking for an ambitious and values‑driven Head of Social Impact to lead and embed our environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy across the organisation. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll ensure our commercial growth goes hand in hand with positive social outcomes for learners, communities and partners. The role is hybrid, a blend between working from home and travelling occasionally for meetings.

As a Head of Social Impact, you’ll champion social value, sustainability and ethical practice; positioning social impact as a core business driver that strengthens our reputation, supports growth and delivers meaningful change.

What you’ll do

  • Social Impact
    • Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organisation and across training delivery.
    • Foster community partnerships, including initiatives that enhance social mobility and employability for learners.
    • Design and measure social impact initiatives aligned to the organisation’s purpose in education and skills development.
    • Ensure training provision demonstrably improves learner outcomes, accessibility, and community impact.
    • Build partnerships with sector bodies, charities, local authorities, and employers to extend reach and credibility.
  • Strategy & Leadership
    • Develop and deliver the organisation’s ESG strategy in line with business objectives and growth ambitions.
    • Embed ESG principles into company culture, operations, and service delivery.
    • Lead the journey towards B Corp certification, ensuring all necessary frameworks, processes, and evidence are in place.
    • Identify and manage ESG risks and opportunities that support long‑term sustainability and competitiveness.
  • Environmental Sustainability
    • Develop and implement initiatives to reduce carbon footprint, energy use, and waste across operations.
    • Track and report on environmental impact metrics and improvement plans, ensuring transparent reporting.
    • Support the adoption of sustainable procurement practices.
  • Governance
    • Ensure social impact and ESG governance structures are robust, transparent, and aligned with best practice.
    • Support compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and industry standards.
    • Regularly report on social impact and ESG performance.
  • Bids & Tenders
    • Provide social impact and ESG expertise in bid and tender submissions, ensuring sustainability and social impact are clearly evidenced to enhance business outcomes.
    • Develop compelling social impact case studies, data, and narratives that strengthen competitive positioning.
    • Collaborate with the business development team to integrate ESG credentials into client proposals.
  • Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track and report ESG performance against agreed targets and KPIs.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and funding requirements in the training sector.

About you

Essential

  • Proven experience in social impact, ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, or related fields.
  • Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to translate social impact and ESG principles into practical initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Excellent written communication skills, particularly for bids, tenders, and reports.
  • Commercial awareness with an understanding of how social impact and ESG drives business growth and competitive advantage.

Desirable

  • Experience in the training, education, or skills sector.
  • Track record of embedding ESG within SMEs or independent providers.
  • Knowledge of B Corp certification requirements and/or experience of delivering accreditation or standards (e.g. ISO 14001, Social Value Act reporting).
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks.
