IMPACT EVOLVE are delighted to continue building out the team at Hawkstone - quite simply one of the fastest growing and most exciting beer brands in the UK right now. Born from a passion for great beer and uncompromising quality, Hawkstone is a dynamic, ambitious brewery based at College Farm in the heart of the Cotswolds. The brand has grown at pace, and with a major brewery refurbishment now underway - transforming production capability and setting the stage for the next chapter of growth - this is a genuinely compelling time to join.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Head of Quality, you’ll play a central role in embedding quality, food safety, and health & safety standards across brewery operations. With a brand-new brewery coming online mid-2026, you’ll be there from the start - helping to shape how things work, not just maintaining the status quo. This is a role with real variety - from managing documentation and QA systems, to conducting audits and risk assessments, to liaising with external labs and third-party production partners. You’ll also step up as deputy for the Head of Quality when needed, giving you genuine exposure to the full breadth of quality leadership. It’s also worth being honest: this is a growing business, and that means some days will involve rolling your sleeves up on tasks that might sit below your experience level. The upside is that you’ll be learning from a highly experienced Head of Quality, with a clear path to grow as the team does.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Quality Systems
- Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of brewery quality systems, including SALSA and Food Safety/Food Defence frameworks
- Standardise work instructions and procedures across the business to a consistent template and lead the roll-out
- Manage QA management system documentation, ensuring everything is current, accessible, and fit for purpose
- Manage non-conformance reporting and CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) processes
- Liaise with external laboratories to coordinate sampling, testing, and reporting
- Conduct internal audits and support third-party contractor audits
- Health & Safety
- Maintain and improve health and safety policies in line with UK legislation
- Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections, and incident investigations
- Support the delivery of safety training and inductions for staff and contractors
- Champion a proactive safety culture across the site
- Contractor & External Partner Oversight
- Support oversight of third-party filling operations to ensure adherence to QHS standards
- Help maintain quality and technical contracts, service agreements, and documentation for all external partners and labs
- Support regular review and audit of contractor performance
What We’re Looking For
Sector background is less important than you might think. Brewing experience isn’t essential - candidates from food & beverage, soft drinks, FMCG, or any regulated manufacturing environment are very much encouraged to apply. What matters is the right mindset: detail-oriented, genuinely curious, and someone who gets energy from learning how things work.
- A solid working knowledge of quality management systems and food safety principles (GMP, HACCP, GFSI)
- Experience in health & safety management, including risk assessments and incident investigation
- Strong organisational skills and a structured, thorough approach to documentation
- A collaborative communicator who can engage and influence at all levels
- Comfortable in a fast-moving, hands-on environment - no two days are the same
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
- Experience auditing integrated QEHS management systems
- Exposure to third-party contractors and external laboratory services
- Experience embedding QHS culture in a high-growth or start-up environment
What’s On Offer
- A pivotal role at a genuinely exciting moment in the brand’s story
- Direct mentorship from a highly experienced Head of Quality with a clear development path
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off
- BUPA Health Insurance
- A collaborative, inclusive team where your contribution is seen and valued
