About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor to oversee mechanical installation, maintenance and commissioning activities across wastewater and infrastructure projects throughout London and the surrounding areas.

You will lead a team of engineers and fitters, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards while supporting successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of approximately 6 engineers and fitters.
  • Plan daily activities and ensure work is delivered in line with programme requirements.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance and repair of pumps, fans, ductwork, pipework and odour control systems.
  • Provide technical support and practical guidance to site teams.
  • Manage testing, fault finding and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with project specifications, RAMS and site procedures.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers and Engineers to monitor progress and resolve issues.
  • Coordinate plant deliveries, storage and site logistics when required.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, permit systems and confined space requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and maintain quality standards across all mechanical works.
  • Complete site reports, inspection records and project documentation accurately and on time.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor, Mechanical Site Supervisor or similar.
  • Strong background in mechanical installation, maintenance and commissioning.
  • Experience working within wastewater, utilities, industrial or infrastructure environments.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Previous experience managing site-based teams.

Qualifications

  • NVQ / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS.
  • CSCS Card.
  • Thames Water Safety Passport.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience with odour control systems or process plant equipment.
  • Confined Space Training.
  • First Aid qualification.
  • Experience working on Thames Water or other water utility frameworks.
