About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced HV Commissioning Engineer to join their growing team, delivering high-voltage commissioning activities across renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Working on systems ranging from 11kV to 132kV, you will be responsible for testing, commissioning, fault finding and energisation support across HV substations, ensuring all installations are delivered safely, compliantly and in accordance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead commissioning activities on HV substations, Solar PV, BESS, ICP and DNO projects.
- Produce and execute commissioning plans, inspection test plans (ITPs) and commissioning documentation.
- Oversee installation works to ensure compliance with specifications and industry standards.
- Carry out testing and validation of switchgear, transformers, LV/HV cables, battery chargers and associated plant.
- Perform AC, DC, HV, LV and SCADA system testing.
- Conduct primary and secondary injection testing and protection relay verification.
- Complete cable testing, insulation resistance, VLF, AC Hipot and fault-finding.
