Role Overview
Reporting to the Quality Lead, the Quality Adviser will support the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of quality management systems across the project. The position operates within the HSEQ leadership team, providing assurance to both internal stakeholders and the client that quality risks are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Management & Assurance
- Support the implementation and maintenance of the Project Quality Plan (PQP)
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and client-specific quality requirements
- Assist in developing and reviewing procedures, ITPs, and method statements
- Promote consistent quality controls across T&D activities
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards
- Monitor works across civil, OHL, and commissioning disciplines
- Identify and manage non-conformances (NCRs) through to close-out
- Verify corrective and preventive actions
- Support internal, external, and client audits
- Prepare audit documentation and corrective action plans
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks (e.g. National Grid, DNOs, ENA)
- Maintain accurate quality records and documentation
- Support preparation of handover documentation and lifetime records
- Ensure strict version control of drawings and documents
- Collaborate with site teams, engineers, and subcontractors
- Provide guidance on quality processes and best practice
- Support supply chain quality performance
- Capture lessons learned and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to KPIs and quality reporting
- Promote defect prevention and continuous improvement culture
Qualifications & Competencies:
Essential
- Experience in a quality role within construction, utilities, or infrastructure
- Knowledge of ISO management systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and organisational ability
Desirable
- Relevant qualification in construction, engineering, or quality (HNC/HND/Degree desirable)
- Exposure to HV/EHV or DNO environments / Transmission & Distribution projects
- Familiarity with client standards (e.g. National Grid, SSEN, UKPN)
- Internal Auditor certification
- Experience using digital quality and handover systems
