About the Impact Economy Collective

The Impact Economy Collective is a cross-sector partnership bringing together leading organisations from philanthropy, impact investing, and purpose-driven business to work with government in delivering social and environmental impact at scale.

The Collective helps government realise the potential of the impact economy to drive inclusive growth and tackle society\’s most pressing challenges. It operates as a trusted intermediary, leveraging collective knowledge, networks, and influence to support government missions through policy co-design, blended capital approaches, and strategic engagement. The Collective is hosted by the LSE and convened by AchieveGood.

The Role

We\’re recruiting an Associate Consultant to provide essential strategic and community building support to the Impact Economy Collective. This role offers exposure to high-level policy work at the intersection of government, philanthropy, impact investing, and purpose-driven business.

A key project for the Impact Economy Collective, and for this role, is designing and running Policy Labs, which bring together stakeholders across sectors to co-design policy and investment solutions. This person will support in identifying areas of opportunity for Impact Economy actors to have a profound impact on social services in the UK, which can be explored through the Policy Labs. Following labs, this person will lead the design and implementation of solutions developed through the Lab process.

Key Responsibilties

Policy & Strategy (c50%)

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews and synthesise findings
  • Research policy areas and sector developments
  • Draft meeting notes and action summaries, using AI tools
  • Support the preparation of pre-read materials and briefing documents
  • Assist with stakeholder mapping and engagement tracking

Community Management (c20%)

  • Support the ongoing engagement of Collective members and partners through regular updates, meetings, and shared workspaces
  • Coordinate cross-sector working groups and peer-learning sessions between Policy Labs
  • Manage membership lists, introductions, and follow-up actions to maintain momentum across the Collective
  • Help design and facilitate convenings, ensuring participants feel connected, valued, and informed
  • Track engagement and insights to strengthen the Collective’s community of practice

Project Management (c20%)

  • Develop and maintain project plans for Lab implementation
  • Track progress against deliverables and deadlines
  • Support coordination between government departments and impact economy organisations

Communications Support (c10%)

  • Draft internal updates and newsletters and blogs
  • Maintain stakeholder contact databases
  • Support website content updates
  • Assist with event communications

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Strong organisational abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort working with senior stakeholders across sectors
  • Interest in social impact, policy, and systems change
  • Proficiency with standard office software, AI and collaboration tools
  • Flexibility to handle both strategic and administrative tasks

Desirable Experience

  • Background in consulting, policy, or social impact sectors
  • Experience with stakeholder engagement or partnership management
  • Familiarity with government processes or public sector work
  • Understanding of philanthropy, impact investing, or social enterprise and responsible business.
