Who We Are

At Impact Consulting, we’re not just about business - we’re about shaping careers and changing lives. We partner with forward-thinking universities to provide real-world projects, placements, and internships for students to undertake as part of their degree. We help universities better prepare students for their careers by providing them with exciting challenges to work on with companies ranging from multinational giants to thriving startups and international NGOs to small charities. Through these projects, we’re bridging the gap between academia and industry.

The Programme Manager Role

As a Programme Manager, you will take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of university accounts, leading a team of Programme Specialists while acting as the key point of contact for our university partners. This is a senior role that combines strategic oversight with hands-on delivery, requiring you to independently manage programmes to an exceptional standard.

  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of small and medium university accounts, from initial requirements gathering through to successful programme closure.
  • Independently host requirements gathering calls with university contacts, building strong relationships and ensuring a clear understanding of their needs.
  • Oversee and lead Programme Specialists across programmes – providing clear requirements, sharing the company’s sourcing strategy, and reviewing and giving feedback on project briefs.
  • Ensure all programmes are delivered to an exceptional standard of quality and on time, maintaining rigorous attention to detail throughout.
  • For projects you are sourcing directly, hit and exceed monthly targets consistently.
  • Proactively minimise issues across programmes, ensuring a smooth experience for both students and university partners.
  • Independently resolve any issues that arise across your programmes, working collaboratively with Programme Specialists to reach swift, effective solutions.
  • Independently deliver end-to-end in-person student experiences, from planning through to on-the-day execution.
  • Lead student and university launch events, both online and in-person, representing Impact Consulting with confidence and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of at least 3 years in programme or project management, ideally within education, consulting, or a client-facing environment.
  • A track record of independently managing multiple workstreams and delivering to deadlines without close supervision.
  • Strong leadership ability – you’re confident directing and supporting junior team members.
  • Exceptional communicator who builds trust and credibility with stakeholders quickly, both in writing and in person.
  • A target-driven mentality with the drive to go above and beyond to deliver outstanding results.
  • Confident facilitating meetings, workshops, and events with a range of audiences.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • A 2:1 degree or higher is preferred, though demonstrable experience will always be considered.

What’s on Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience (expected around £44,000) + performance-related bonus (up to 10% of annual salary).
  • Full-time permanent role – 3 days per week in our London (Tower Bridge) office, 2 days from home.
  • Direct exposure to and mentorship from company founders, with a clear progression path as the business scales.
  • Opportunity to build and be part of a startup that is changing how education is delivered in the UK and around the world.
  • Energetic, fast-paced start-up environment where your impact is visible from day one.
