Purpose of the role
We are looking for a postdoctoral scientist to join Prof Christina
Zielinski’s group to work in the field of human T-cell regulation.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of human T
cell immunology using cutting edge cellular, molecular approaches,
protein biochemistry and imaging.
About the Zielinski Lab:
Our lab investigates novel functions, molecular pathways and the
translational relevance of human T cells in clinical situations such
as infections, autoimmunity and cancer. We are interested in the
identification and characterization of novel T cell functions in the
human tissue microenvironment and in their dissection at the
molecular level. We have recently shown that innate signalling
platforms are operative in human T cells and are interested in
further exploring their role for adaptive immunity and their
regulation.
About the role:
Your project will focus on the molecular regulation of new T cell
functions and signalling platforms using state-of-the-art and cutting
edge technologies in protein biochemistry, imaging, gene editing
etc. The project will involve studying the role and regulation of T cell
derived extracellular vesicles. As a postdoc, you will have the
opportunity to engage in multiple projects and to collaborate with
junior scientists of the team and to supervise junior team members.
You will also collaborate with clinicians to obtain human tissue
samples. Expertise in T cell biology and the regulation of
cytotoxicity and cell death is strongly encouraged as a prerequisite
for application. Computational (scRNAseq) and modelling expertise
is a plus.
You may also pursue a research agenda of your interest and
contribute with new technologies and T cell-related questions that
fit into the overall vision of our team.
