Job Description

Location of role Oxford, UK

Department CMC

Key Responsibilities

Purpose of the role

This role will lead the development of a comprehensive charge profiling knowledge base for ImmTAX molecules, enabling faster, more reliable decision making across the product lifecycle. You will design and execute charge profiling studies using anion exchange chromatography and capillary-based methods and work closely with mass spectrometry specialists to assign major peaks and link charge variants to specific molecular changes. By building and curating a robust database of ImmTAX charge profiles, you will improve understanding of product identity, purity and stability, reduce ambiguity when profiles change, and help streamline program timelines, reduce rework, and lower overall development costs.

Key Responsibilities

You will perform both lab-based and desk-based research using a range of analytical tools. Your responsibilities are expected to include:

Establish a library of ImmTAX and related molecules that require charge profile characterisation.

Select a shortlist of molecules for detailed investigation, based on scientific and program risk.

Optimisation of capillary-based charge profiling methods to improve separation and resolution of key peaks.

Development of fractionation methods to isolate specific charge variants for selected molecules.

Preparing and analysing isolated fractions, including reinjection using standard charge profiling methods to confirm peak identity.

Further characterisation of peaks using extended analytical techniques, such as mass spectrometry.

Time permitting: Development of an automated sample preparation method to increase throughput and reproducibility.

You will receive training and day-to-day support from experienced scientists, with the opportunity to develop practical laboratory skills, data analysis capabilities, and an understanding of biopharmaceutical characterisation.
