Immunocore are looking to recruit a Data Scientist apprentice. This role will support the Bioinformatics team within Translational Medicine. The Bioinformatics team is a global team, using computational tools to analyse massive biological data (genomics, proteomics) for faster drug discovery, from identifying disease targets and designing molecules to predicting efficacy/toxicity, streamlining clinical trials and aiding in drug repurposing and safety.
Qualification Requirements
- Grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics or equivalent, Grade 4 in GCSE English Language or equivalent (prior to admission)
- The minimum of BBC at A-Level, with a B in Maths and Biology. We will not accept A-Levels Citizenship Skills, General Studies, and Critical Thinking.
- Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship at Distinction

£22,000 per annum

Job Responsibilities
As Data Science Apprentice, you will bring digital and data analytics methodologies together with industry best practice to actively support the bioinformatics team and the broader Translational Medicine function within the business. During the apprenticeship, there will potentially be opportunities for you to work in other teams within Immunocore, for example IT and protein engineering (research). As well as on job learning you will be studying part-time at the University of Nottingham for a fully funded BSc (Hons) Data Science.

- Competent with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to follow instructions and operate in a controlled environment adhering to procedures for example safety, environment, and risk management
- Knowledge of programming skills e.g. Python (nice to have – not a requirement)
- Effective time management & prioritisation skills
- Interest in research, science and technology, A level studies to include 1 science subject.
