We are seeking a qualified and detail-oriented US Immigration Attorney to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in US immigration law and a passion for helping individuals and businesses navigate complex immigration processes. This role offers flexibility while contributing meaningfully to client outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice, representing clients and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Strong negotiation skills are essential to effectively advocate on behalf of clients and secure favourable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and representation in a wide range of US immigration matters, including employment-based and family-based immigration.
- Prepare, review, and file both non-immigrant and immigration petitions and applications (e.g., E-2, H-1B, L-1, O-1, PERM, I-130, I-485, naturalization).
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary documentation and provide case updates.
- Respond to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other government inquiries.
- Represent clients in immigration appeals, including Motions to Reopen, Motions to Reconsider, and Administrative Appeals (AAO), as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with paralegals and administrative staff to manage caseload efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in at least one US state (in good standing).
- Minimum of 2–5 years of experience practicing US immigration law.
- Strong knowledge of USCIS processes, regulations, and immigration procedures.
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases independently with attention to detail.
- Experience with immigration case management software is a plus.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience handling both corporate and family immigration matters.
- Familiarity with USCIS, consular processing and global mobility issues.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus but not required.
